Those interested in following sports scores on the lock screen can enable the feature through the Settings app, and then tap Sports Scores to see what matches are currently being played. Apple is also adding a Live Activity feature to the App Store, which offers real-time updating directly on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island on iPhone models that support it. It’s a bit different from standard push notifications and widgets because it allows apps to update information in a persistent notification without the user having to open or unlock their phone. It’s already being used by the MLB app to display live baseball games, and will no doubt start popping up in more places as developers adopt the feature.
